Dirt and rust stains have a way of creeping up on concrete without you even noticing - until one day you step back and see just how grimy everything has gotten. That's exactly what we were dealing with here at this townhouse in Smithfield, NC. The driveway had picked up rust-colored stains and general grime buildup, and the back patio wasn't much better.

We handled both surfaces - the full driveway run from the street to the garage and the concrete patio out back. Two very different areas of the home, but both the kind of thing that quietly drags down the look of the whole property when they're left dirty. Concrete holds onto stains surprisingly well, especially rust and organic buildup from sitting water and debris.

For the driveway, the rust spotting near the middle section was the main target. That kind of staining doesn't just rinse off on its own - it needs the right pressure and technique to lift it properly without damaging the surface. We worked the whole length of the driveway, not just the stained spots, so the finished result looks consistent and clean from curb to garage.

Out back, the patio slab got the same treatment. Concrete patios tend to collect grime along the edges and in the surface texture, and it builds up gradually enough that most homeowners don't realize how much has accumulated. Once it's cleaned, the difference in tone and brightness is hard to miss. The space just feels more usable and put-together.

Clean concrete makes a bigger impact on curb appeal - and on how the rest of your property is perceived - than most people give it credit for. A well-kept driveway signals a well-kept home. That goes for front entry and backyard alike.
