Sometimes a yard just needs a reset. The beds are overgrown, the mulch is old and faded, and the whole front of the house looks tired - even if the house itself is in great shape. That's exactly the kind of situation we walked into here. Weeds had taken over, the beds had no real definition, and there wasn't much going on plant-wise to give the front any character.

We started by clearing everything out - pulling weeds, cleaning up the bed edges, and getting things back to a blank slate. From there, we installed fresh mulch across the front beds and added new shrubs to give the space some structure. Black bed edging ties it all together and creates a clean line between the beds and the surrounding yard. It's a simple combination, but it works every time.

The thing about fresh mulch is that it does a lot of heavy lifting visually. It makes everything look intentional and cared for. It also helps hold moisture and keep weeds from bouncing right back - which means the cleanup actually lasts instead of looking rough again in a few weeks.

New shrubs are another detail that really pays off over time. They fill in naturally as they grow, and they give the home a grounded, finished look that bare beds just can't pull off. Pair that with clean edges and fresh mulch, and the whole front of the property reads completely differently.

If your beds are looking rough and you're not sure where to start, this kind of cleanup is usually all it takes to get things back on track. It doesn't have to be complicated to make a real difference in how your home looks from the street.
